The woman accused of shooting at Rihanna's Los Angeles home allegedly emailed her estranged husband weeks earlier, demanding that he "renounce" the singer and say she was "better than her," according to new court documents.

The suspect, identified as 35-year-old Ivanna Lisette Ortiz of Florida, is charged with one count of attempted murder and multiple counts of assault with a firearm after prosecutors said she opened fire on Rihanna's property with an AR-15-style rifle.

Authorities said Rihanna, her partner A$AP Rocky, their three children, her mother, and staff members were at the home when the shots were fired, but no one was hurt, according to Perez Hilton.

In filings related to a custody case, Ortiz's estranged husband, Jed Valdez Sangalang, attached an email dated January 26 in which Ortiz allegedly wrote, "I need you to renounce Rihanna and confess that I'm better than her. Let it be done. You gotta let me know so that door can be closed." He said he received calls and emails about Ortiz after the shooting, including inquiries from news outlets.

Prosecutors say Ortiz drove to Rihanna's Beverly Hills-area home one Sunday afternoon and fired multiple rounds, striking the mansion, an Airstream trailer on the property, and a neighboring house, Yahoo News reported.

Investigators reported that automatic license plate readers helped officers track a white Tesla seen leaving the scene, and Ortiz was later arrested without incident in Sherman Oaks.

Ortiz faces at least 14 felony counts, including numerous assault-with-a-firearm charges and several counts of shooting into an inhabited dwelling, with firearm-use enhancements that could lead to a life sentence if she is convicted. She remains in custody, with bail set at about $1.8 million, and her arraignment has been postponed until later this month.

Sangalang is now asking a family court for full custody and sole decision-making power over their child, citing Ortiz's alleged role in the shooting and the impact on their family. He told the court he tried to shield the child from news of the incident, but another student at school mentioned it, forcing him to explain what happened, as per TMZ.
