The cat and mouse killing spree of a monster and devil personified by a human being in Hannibal season 2 has ended successfully with a lot of screams, gasp and hair pulling and not to mention seating at the edge of the seat for most audiences. Who wouldn't if the latest installment kept you with a cliffhanger in the peak of its thrilling part! Now, they entire cast and crew are ready to embark in a new darker stories for Hannibal season 3 is set to start filming in the middle of October. Changes are set forth to bring Hannibal's true humanity side, a relationship, the true villain, the leads all drop dead and new comers to entice a much darker past and prospective brighter future.
Collider had the great opportunity to interview with this suspense thriller show's creator, Bryan Fuller. The 3rd installment of the series is bringing new person in the picture including the very personalities of the current characters, may it be the hero or villain of the series. But Fuller does not actually give the answer as to who would survive the death creeping finale of the 2nd season. As TVLine recalls on its website, the cliffhanger finale showed the crucial fate of the characters. This includes Will being stabbed by the cruel Dr. Lecter; sacrificed Abigail Hobbs precious throat through the sharp steel after the latter have successfully pushed Alana Bloom outside the window. As to whether they live or die, nobody knows for the after the series finale's credits, the director teased all of us with a clip showing Hannibal enjoying his champagne and the company of Bedelia Du Maurier, his therapist, on a plane to God knows where.
Collider was able to extract from Fuller that the very season finale idea came to the creator half-way through the current season. He admittedly described the scene to be quite exciting and always keep the game going not to mention the fans to think of who will they be seeing next season and what will become of their favorite villain. Fuller added that even the actors and actresses know what they will get themselves into as the creator never misses to point out important developments and future plans of the series to all of the cast members. A trustful relationship keeps the secrecy of a great suspense thriller series in check in Fuller's own belief.
The creator continues to tease fans through Collider's report that they would not be knowing who will continue their journey in Season 3 not until they reach the second or third episode of the planned new season. What Fuller can give the Hannibal fans is that surely each of the character will now only lose their life/lives, that is if they survive the finale, but lose a part of their true self.
As for the new season's plot, the creator have set forth venturing the story within the life of Hannibal. How he started off as a real person before actually becoming what he is now. This is one of the key aspects for Will Graham to catch Hannibal. To know where the monster is, one must know the person he is dealing with. So, the story sets on Will discovering the life of the real Hannibal by uncovering his past life, including bringing in a sister through the character of Lady Murasaki. Such journey into the past is exciting while the very hunters in search of the devil are in search of themselves as well. This is the challenge in the game.
Also fuller adds a little romance in Hannibal's life. The creator admits that this part is definitely not in the literature but he wanted Hannibal to be released from his leash of being a caged animal. Will Graham will be the most tested character of all as he does not only have the responsibility of bringing Hannibal to jail but he will have to weigh in his loyalties throughout this new season.
Now, that is very exciting! Truth be told many of my friends are not watching this series but after I share few of the thrilling stories of this freakish good series, they too became a fan.
