'John Wick: Chapter 2' Release Date & News Update: Keanu Reeves Is Back As The Deadly Assassin

"John Wick: Chapter 2" is coming to theaters and it is highly anticipated by fans. Three years after the first film franchise Keanu Reeves is back as the deadly assassin, John Wick.

According to a report in National Post, "John Wick: Chapter 2" is more like a reunion from the stars of the Matrix. Laurence Fishburne is to join Reeves in the second franchise. Fishburne played Morpheus in the film the Matrix.

It is indicated in the report that Fishburne is to portray Bowery King in "John Wick: Chapter 2." Screenwriter Derek Kolstad and Chad Stahelski have written the character especially for Fishburne. Wick's assignment in the film will take him to New York and Rome. The sequel is yet to give more action from Wick where he fights other guys as he moves on with his mission.

"John Wick: Chapter 2" has given Reeves more training in the martial arts field. However, Reeves does not really look at himself as an expert in the field. In fact, he shares that judo cannot be faked and the training also can come from the opponents in the film.

Meanwhile, Keanu Reeves is also on the work of being a star for a romantic film titled "Siberia." This may take him to a totally different world from "John Wick: Chapter 2" according to a report in Empire. The said film is to be directed by Matthew Ross and is written by Scott Smith.

Keanu Reeves is hinted to play a diamond trader who brings the shipment to Russia. However, the jewels get stolen and lead the character of Reeves to venture to Siberia. He then gets caught up in a passionate affair with an owner of a café.

A report in Gizmodo hints that Stahelski is looking at developing a TV Series for the film "John Wick." It may be a prequel series to the film and the report indicates further that Lionsgate is interested on the idea. "John Wick: Chapter 2" hits theaters on Feb 17.
