Naughty Dog's The Last of Us 2 has not ceased to become a common rumor to the anticipating fans of the series. Over the course of the years since the first game came out, followers of the zombie survival have wondered if the story will still ascend from where it left off.

As per Movie Pilot, The Last of Us set the bar unusually high for other games that intended to come up with the same concept in the near future. Given that the title will not have contenders soon enough, the continuity of the title becomes questioned; or if there even will be.

According to Cinema Blend, the wonder for The Last of Us 2 coming forth is still a rampant one, and rumors claim that fans will just have to wait a little longer. Some speculations point to a possible creation of The Last of Us 2 once the downloadable contents for the existing Uncharted 4: A Thief's End have been made, which as of the momentm is still undisclosed. Moreover, some fans talk about the title now moving forward into its development but has been decided not to publicly be announced.

Christian Times noted that the game's entirety is yet to be confirmed by Naughty Dog and the most apparent reason perceived by the fans is the focus of the developers to create more content for Uncharted 4: A Thief's End. There are those who urge the fans to no longer hold on to a possible second title but the more faithful ones talk of a surprise that simply went through a delay.

No confirmed news of a creation for The Last of Us 2 was revealed by Naughty Dog. As for a potential plot direction, some talk of Ellie being the lead character for the second title, with the tendency of Joel to no longer be in the story. Many fans attested to it, however, and are still skeptical over his role along the way.
