After Marlin successfully found his little boy, Nemo, it is Dory's turn to find her family in the upcoming Finding Dory. During the course of her search and trying to remember details of her past, she will meet new characters, although, some would be less friendly than the others.
In the upcoming Disney flick, Dory is headed on a new journey to find her parents and as reported by IGN, some of the characters she will meet along the way have been revealed. In her latest adventure, Dory will meet Hank, an octopus or more of a "septopus" voiced by Ed O'Neill. Hank has lost one of his tentacles, but such loss did not make him any less of a sea creature compared to his fellow octopuses as he is an escape artist with special skills at camouflaging.
Furthermore, she will also meet a whale shark name Destiny, voiced by Kaitlin Olson. Despite her lack of grace in swimming, she will become a friend to Dory after their meeting in the pool. Her ability to speak in whale also makes her an even more adorable friend.
At the Marine Life Institute Dory will also meet the beluga whale, Bailey. Brought to life by the voice of Ty Burrell, her friendly relations with Destiny will not be in its best condition which will be actually comparable to his biological sonar skills.
Dory will also meet sea lions named Fluke and Rudder. They are voiced by Dominic 'West and Idris Elba. As reported by USA Today, director Andrew Stanton said that West and Elba have been the perfect match for the characters and added that they also wanted to witness a Wire reunion for the two.
"Idris and Dominic are well-trained, dramatic, Shakespearean actors, but they can do comedy like nobody's business. They just ran with it. They played jolly and lazy really well.", Stanton said. "But the truth is, I really wanted to witness a Wire reunion, so we got them together.", he added.
Diane Keaton and Eugene Levy are also part of the cast as Dory's parents, Jenny and Charlie. Jenny is a cheerful, a little flighty, and protective but smart mother to their girl, while Charlie is more of a jokester. Both parents strive to teach Dory to survive in the world despite her forgetfulness.
According to ABC News, Stanton revealed that they intend to make the movie as a whole new chapter with new characters that has its uniqueness that drives the story. "We're introducing new characters-each with his or her own unique voice," he said. "Everyone has something special to offer, which makes it fun and elevates the whole story. 'Finding Nemo' was a great calling card when it came to casting this movie. I don't take that for granted." Stanton added.
Ellen DeGeneres is set to return to voice Dory along with Albert Brooks as Marlin and newcomer Hayden Rolence as Nemo. It is directed by Andrew Stanton and Angus MacLane. Finding Dory will hit theaters on June 17, 2016.
