'Star Wars: Episode VIII' may put more focus on Jedi temples as the production team is looking to film in ancient caverns. Leaked photographs from the filming set in Croatia reveal new aliens as well as spaceships.

According to Moviepilot, Johnson's upcoming eighth installment in the highly popular 'Star Wars' cinematic series may put more focus on Jedi temples since it was reported that the production team is looking to film in ancient caverns. It was rumored that one of the new film's potential titles include 'The Tale of the Jedi Temple', in which Mark Hamill's Luke Skywalker is set to create a new Jedi order with Rey as his protégé.

It was revealed that the filming locations for 'Star Wars: Episode VIII' are all historical sites. A filming set in Dubrovik, Croatia has recently been put up, with many fans leaking various images of the walled city online. The new film may focus on Luke's galactic quest to find more Jedi relics as well as a temple.

According to Metro, Luke is set to reunite with old ally Lando Calrissian in the newly-built fictional town. Lando was portrayed by Billy Dee Williams and appeared in 'The Empire Strikes Back' and 'Return of the Jedi'. He was introduced as a human smuggler and gambler who became the Baron Administrator of Cloud City before he joined the Rebel Alliance as a general.

Hamill himself was already spotted filming in Dubrovik but it remains unclear if Williams will be reprising his role as Lando. However, Williams did hint at his return to the franchise just last year.

Strange new aliens and other costumed characters have also been sighted in Dubrovik as shown in leaked photographs from the filming set. Some looked like a cross between human and beast and some looked reptilian. According to MovieWeb, a Landspeeder and a "space horse" have also been spotted.

The location was also rumored to be a stand-in of Han Solo's home of Corellia, a world known for its space pilots and massive starships like the Millenium Falcon.

'Star Wars: Episode VIII' is an upcoming action-adventure and fantasy film written and directed by Rian Johnson. It is the eighth installment in the main 'Star Wars' space opera series and intended as the sequel to J.J. Abrams' 'Star Wars: Episode VII - The Force Awakens'. It is scheduled to be released on December 15, 2017.

Principal photography began at Pinewood Studios in the United Kingdom and moved to Croatia, with some scenes shot at Skellig Michael in Ireland. It stars Daisy Ridley, Oscar Isaac, Domhnall Gleeson, Benicio Del Toro, Gwendoline Christie, Carrie Fisher and Mark Hamill among others.
