According to ComicBook, the latest official trailer for the highly-anticipated sequel in the 'Captain America' cinematic series recently debuted at the Kids' Choice Awards. Although the trailer was relatively identical to the previous releases, it highlighted imminent political unrest and societal in new footage.
It also featured closer looks at new and returning superheroes including Chris Evans' Cap, Robert Downey Jr.'s Iron Man, Scarlett Johansson's Black Widow, Sebastian Stan's Winter Soldier, Anthony Mackie's Falcon, Jeremy Renner's Hawkeye, Elizabeth Olsen's Scarlet Witch. It also featured Chadwick Boseman's Black Panther, Tom Holland's Spider-Man and Emily VanCamp's Agent 13.
According to another article by Cinema Blend, the new teaser showed more minor characters and their intense action sequences as opposed to the original trailer release. It dug deeper into the gradually increasing friction between Cap and Iron Man - exploring the latter's political conflict with current superhero policy. The new film follows the split of the Avengers into two opposing factions - one led by Captain America and the other by Iron Man - over a new act regulating superhuman activity.
Cap's team is opposed to the newly enacted U.S. Superhero Registration Act while Iron Man's is supporting it. The legislative bill was created following the devastating aftermath caused by superhero-related events such as the Hulk's rampage in Las Vegas.
The resulting rift between the two superheroes results in one of the greatest wars in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). According to MovieWeb, the latest trailer for 'Captain America: Civil War' may have unintentionally spilled a massive spoiler.
An Imgur user noticed that the 2:40 mark showed what appeared to be a maimed Winter Soldier in the background amidst the fight between Cap and Iron Man. It was speculated that Sebastian Stan's character may meet his demise in the hands of Iron Man in the new film.
