Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow AICP custom ROM offers improved user experience, Doze exclusively for OnePlus One; TugaPower custom ROM also available

AICP's Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow custom ROM enhances user experience and brings Doze to the OnePlus One. Another unofficial Marshmallow firmware, called TugaPower custom ROM, is also available for OnePlus One devices.

Android Ice Cold Project, more commonly known as AICP, has finally released its version of an Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow custom ROM for the OnePlus One. The unofficial AICP unofficial Marshmallow firmware is exclusive to OnePlus One a.k.a. Bacon devices only, as per MobiPicker.

According to the report, the Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow AICP custom ROM brings improved user experience and battery-saving features to the OnePlus One. With the firmware, users can get Marshmallow's Doze feature that can help manage the OnePlus One's battery consumption.

Along with Doze, the Android 6.0.1 AICP custom ROM also comes with Marshmallow's new security boot system and more goodies. The firmware has a download size of 285 MB. It should be noted that the custom ROM is meant only for OnePlus One models. Users with other phone models risk having their devices bricked when they install this firmware.

There is another Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow custom ROM available for the OnePlus One. Lawyer Herald previously reported that the TugaPower custom ROM can extend the OnePlus One's battery life. Develoepd by Daniel Monteiroh, the TugaPower custom ROM for OnePlus One contains CyanogenMod functionalities and can be installed using the TWRP method.

The Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow AICP custom ROM can be flashed on to OnePlus One devices with the ClockworkMod Recovery/TWRP tool. International Business Times listed a step-by-step guide for users on how to install the custom ROM on their OnePlus One phones. Users need to remember that installing an unofficial custom ROM will turn the carrier warranties of their devices void.

OnePlus One users also have the choice to install the OrionOS Android Marshmallow custom ROM. This unofficial firmware brings several features such as new boot animations and a quick unlock feature.
