‘Baywatch’ Update: Dwayne Johnson, Zac Efron sport lifeguard uniforms as production commences in Florida

90's "Baywatch" series sure did attract half of the world with their beach actions. After more than a decade, the popular action drama flick is returning, this time, to the big screens for a film adaptation. The start-studded movie has already started filming and two of the hotties included on its cast, Dwayne Johnson and Zac Efron, were spotted shooting in their lifeguard attires. 

The Baywatch series might have already concluded almost 15 years ago, but that was apparently not the end for the lifeguards and beauties in bikinis as it set to get an exciting film adaptation. In fact, it has finally commenced its principal photography. According to Entertainment Weekly, Dwayne Johnson posted a photo on Instagram confirming the start of its production. Johnson captioned his photo "This squad has been working extremely hard for months for these roles - the time has come - we start shooting TOMORROW." He added that they'll be ready to give the world some "beach fun".

The Daily Mail provided several on-set photos starring the two actors, Dwayne Johnson and Zac Efron. The article posted at least 28 candid pictures of the duo who were spotted filming in Boca Raton, Florida. The two were wearing boardwalk shorts and rocking their lifeguard suits, revealing their rock-hard muscles and chiseled bodies.

Efron and Johnson spearheads the cast of the upcoming "Baywatch" film adaptation, as discussed by USA Today. They will be joined by Priyanka Chopra who was revealed to have boarded as the film's vilain last week.

"Baywatch" would centre on the relationship of Johnson and Efron's characters as the former is an experienced lifeguard who will take Efron's character under his wing. The film is being directed by "Horrible Bosses" helmer, Seth Gordon.

The movie adaptation is based on the show that started airing in 1989 until 2001. The "Baywatch" series was initially cancelled but proved to be a hit after the following seasons became one of the most watched shows in the world. Apart from the forementioned actors, the upcoming film will also star Hadera, Kelly Rohrbach and Alexandra Daddario which makes it very exciting. However, the release date is yet to be announced.
