HTC Announces One X9, Desire 530, Desire 630 and Desire 825 at MWC 2016

HTC has been speculated to introduce its upcoming flagship handset HTC One M10 during the MWC 2016, but it didn't materialize. Instead, the Taiwanese tech company has announced the high-end HTC One X9 and mid-ranger smartphones such as Desire 530, Desire 630 and Desire 825 on the event.

According to BGR, HTC has released four products which include a high-end and three mid-ranged smartphones. As a matter of fact, the Taiwanese tech giant has unveiled and demoed these handsets during a quiet media event on Sunday morning.

HTC has reportedly created something new on its Desire line-up with model having a unique design. The company has applied a unique coat of splashes on the cases of the new Desires, called the micro splash effect. There's also a way to tether each new Desire with a lanyard if one's heart desires.

When it comes with the specs and features, Android Authority noted that the Desire handsets features a 5.0-inch 720p Super LCD displays, aside from the Desire 830 which is armed with a bigger 5.5-inch screen.

The Desire 530, which is particularly the lowest-end of the bunch, is engineered with a 1.1GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 210 processor and paired with a 1.5GB of RAM. This handset is fuelled by a 2200mAh capacity battery and has an 8MP rear-facing camera that is good enough to take some solid well-lit shots, as well as a 5MP front-facing snapper.

Meanwhile, both Desire 630 and 825 feature quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processors clocked at 1.6GHz and coupled with a 2GB of RAM. These smartphones are armed with 13MP rear cameras and 5MP front snappers. The 630 is powered with a 2200mAh battery, while the 825 sports a bigger 2700mAh cell with fast charging capabilities. Both the Desire 630 and 825 are Hi-Res Audio certified and come with HTC's infamous BoomSound with Dolby Audio technology. In some regions, these two devices will arrive bundled with a Hi-Res headset.

Additionally, the Desire 825 will arrive featuring the Sensor Hub, which is an always-on hub that will record user's daily activity, gestures and dynamic movement. This data can incorporate with fitness tracking platforms like Runtastic, Runkeeper, Endomondo Running and Walking, and Google Fit.

This Desire lineup is packed with a 16GB of on-board storage that can be further expanded up to 2TB. The devices are running on Android 6.0 Marshmallow with HTC Sense.

On the other hand, Android Central stated that the HTC One X9 is a close relative of the last major HTC release, the HTC One A9. One X9 features a curve metal body with a 5.5-inch 1080p display and a 13-megapixel rear camera with OIS. Unlike the One A9, there's no fingerprint sensor but the HTC's trademark BoomSound front-facing speakers has made a return for superior audio quality. HTC has also made the transition back to capacitive buttons for back, home and app-switching, freeing up more space on the display itself.

Even with these differences, the A9 and the iPhone design DNA is clearly visible in the X9, which is a bigger version of that device but with some different design priorities. That includes a bigger 3,000mAh battery, a big leap with A9's battery life and different chipset, MediaTek's octa-core Helio X10. The One X9 is also a dual-SIM device, which allows users to make and receive calls on two different numbers, while using one for LTE data.

When it comes with the software,  this handset is running on Sense 7 and Android 6.0 Marshmallow. The version of Sense that was previewed on the X9 seemed closer to Sense proper, in contrast with the Google-influenced interface of the A9.

The HTC Desire 530, Desire 630, Desire 825 and the One X9 are expected to be available on March. But there is still no available information about the prices of these handsets.
