Samsung’s Rose Gold & Platinum Gear S2 To Be Released Worldwide For $450 Soon

Following the announcement of its Gear S2 smartwatch, which is called the Gear S2 Classic "New Edition", Samsung is expected to launch its Rose Gold and Platinum variants worldwide for $450. 

According to Ubergizmo, Samsung announced the updated versions of its much owned Gear S2 smart watch during the Consumer Electronic Show this year. The South Korean tech company calls this device as the Gear S2 Classic New Edition. It was recently announced that the Gear S2 Classic New Edition will be hitting the market shelves of China first then it will be followed by other markets around the world.

The New Edition smart watch will also arrive in more fanciful finishes, like Rose Gold and Platinum. Nevertheless, based on the prices that were recently spotted on Amazon, this smart watch is considerably cheaper than the Apple Watch Edition.

Furthermore, Headlines & Global News added that the Gear S2 is only gold plated armed with a stainless steel metal underneath, while the Apple Watch is solid gold which is why these watches have a huge gap between its prices. It is also worth noting that the Gear S2 runs on Samsung's homegrown operating system called Tizen. It is known to everyone that it was criticized for its lack of apps in the past, but then some critics recently approved its simple and intuitive interface.

Samsung stated that it has affiliated with developers so they could improve and expand the wearable's application environment. This would make the Gear S2 arrive with fancy watch faces and it could also feature Samsung Pay as well as iOS support in the future.

Additionally, Android Headlines reported that the Rose Gold and Platinum variants of Gear S2 are now available for pre-orders in Amazon and both are priced at $449.99. The Platinum version is Titanium-plated, in a 20mm watch strap fitting similar to the Rose Gold option which is 18K Rose Gold plated.

These prices are Amazon's prices and there is a big chance that Samsung will give special offers to celebrate the launch. Moreover, the pre-order pages from Amazon list indicate that the shipping of these devices will be  of 1 to 2 months.

Samsung has yet to confirm the exact schedule of Gear S2 Rose Gold and Platinum variants release in U.S. Nevertheless, the consumers who have placed their orders should expect at least a couple of months before they receive their smart watches.
