Xperia M5 Update: Sony’s smartphone ready for pre order; Ships February 8 in UK

United Kingdom is on the new list of countries were the Sony Xperia M5 will be distributed. One of the smartphones resellers, the Carphone Warehouse confirmed that they are already taking up pre order reservations for the smartphone.

According to GSM Arena, The M5 will boast a 5-inch display with 1080 x 1920 pixels of resolution. Experts say that Sony should have upgraded it to a 2k resolution but the screen size compensates because it has a total of 441 pixels per inch for density making sure that zero pixilation will occur. It will also have an IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen.

What makes this device tick is the ARM's Octa-core Cortex-A53 running at 2.0x GHz with a 3GB of RAM. Multitasking and browsing from one app to the other will be a simple task for this device. Playing 3D games with this amount of RAM will be easy. It will have the Android 5.1 Lollipop as its operating system.

But the M5 only has a fair amount of internal phone memory with only 16GB but makes up with an expendable MicroSD option of 200GB. With this large external storage option, users can store up to 60 1080p movies not to mention the songs and other files that one can put in.

The Xperia M5 has an excellent 21.5MP front clicker with a 13MP front snapper. It has a 0.25 seconds of autofocus, great for capturing those stolen moments. It also takes 4K videos which is becoming a standard nowadays. Sony has always been consistent in impressing their consumers with regards to its camera.

Experts from Sony claims that the M5's battery life last up to 2 days with the aid of a built-in STAMINA mode that  disables Wi-Fi and mobile data which is also available on other phones like the Zenfone. But it has only 2,600 maH capacity. Some people say that this is only a marketing strategy on the part of the company says reports from Biztek Mojo.

Like all other premium phones from Sony, the M5 is also water and dustproof. You can use the phone while taking a shower and at the where sand water can't penetrate through the phone. But experts say that it is still not advisable to submerge it in water. People who pre ordered the phone will be available by February 8.
