Five Teens Arrested for Stealing Hunting Rifles and Shotgun and Stashing Them on School Property

Five teens have been charged with stealing three hunting rifles and a shotgun and stashing then near the athletic fields of Standley Lake High School reported The Denver Post.

According to The Post, two of teens will be charged with misdemeanor theft by receiving, and the three others will be charged with second-degree robbery, possession of deadly weapons-on educational property and interference with staff, faculty or students of educational institutions.

Westminster police identified two boys as 16-year old, but did not disclose the ages of the others.

The discovery of the weapons on campus on Feb. 20 prompted a high-security response and lockout at the Jefferson County School, The Denver Post reported.

The house from where the guns were stolen borders school property, and police speculated the weapons were thrown over the fence, which were spread across the area.

Standley Lake High School is situated at 9300 W 104th Ave, Westminster and is in the JeffCo School District.
