Disney has finally announced that Indiana Jones will be returning to the big screen. While Disney ruled out recasting of Indy, it is yet to be confirmed if Harrison Ford is coming back as Doctor Jones in Indiana Jones 5.

Disney CEO Robert Iger confirms that Indiana Jones 5 will happen. The studio made a wise decision when in purchased the American film production company back in 2012 since it owns a lot of box office hits. Bloomberg reported that Robert Iger mentioned Indiana Jones 5 is already in productions. The CEO said "...Indiana Jones, by the way, which will be coming."

Harrison Ford proves that he is still healthy enough to do movies. The all-around actor recently appeared in the Star Wars: The Force Awakens and everyone went crazy as he and Chewy appeared on the screen. It just goes to show that Harrison Ford can still act and sell movies.

It was Lucasfilm that was behind the classic film installments like Star Wars and Indiana Jones. The 'force' was indeed strong in Star Wars: Force Awakens and have proved that the series is still sellable and can still offer fans new and refreshing storylines. Though Disney was not surprised by the numbers of Star Wars, as it overtook Avatar as the biggest film in US, the studio was quite emotional when they realize that fans still want old movies and fans still remembers the power of these classics. That's why the studio decided to resurrect Indy, as again, it will surely be welcomed by the fans heartily as it had before in the past.

Frank Marshall, the film producer admitted that there are many casting rumors that have been circulating around the internet but he clarified these things. Marshall stated that there no talks about the role of Indy yet, however, there are a lot of people who are compatible with the role. One rumors said that Chris Pratt (Guardians of the Galaxy and Jurassic World) will be featured in Indiana Jones 5.

The film producer also said that they have ruled out the recasting of Indy. Frank Marshall said that they are not doing the Bond thing and call somebody else Indiana Jones. Speculations said that they could have Harrison Ford reprising the role and take less action-packed scenes or they could have Indy play as a teacher or instructor and handing down his legacy to a new character whom he thinks is as skillful and talented as him.

Indiana Jones 5 is rumored to be released in 2018. For the meantime, fans of Indiana Jones will just have to wait for an official announcement from Disney. What you think of the old Harrison Ford? Would you watch another actor playing Indy?Tell us what you think by leaving a comment below.
