Apple's 'iPhone 7 Plus' to offer 256GB size option, larger battery capacity

By

Apple Inc. is expected to unveil another flagship handset, the iPhone 7 Plus. This device is speculated to be armed with a huge amount of internal storage and much larger battery capacity compared to its predecessor, the iPhone 6s Plus.

According to TechnoBuffalo, the rumors about the iPhone 7 Plus which spreaded online came from the Chinese website, MyDrivers. The outlet cited sources in Apple's supply chain who allegedly revealed that the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus will be available in the same 4.7-and 5.5-inch sizes as existing models, but with huge improvements under the hood.

One of those improvements could be a new 256GB storage option, which is twice the amount of storage users can currently get in an iPhone. It's not yet confirmed though whether Apple would offer this as an additional option, or it would finally eliminate the 16 GB model and offer more storage in the cheaper iPhone.

Bonham Journal noted that the iPhone 6s has a 1,715 mAh battery while the iPhone 6s Plus is powered with a 2,750 mAh battery. Interestingly, the much anticipated iPhone 7 Plus is speculated to offer a larger battery capacity of 3,100 mAh.

Furthermore, Phone Arena cited other possible features that the iPhone 7 Plus might sport. It is expected for the upcoming iPhone to offer some sort of protection from water and feature the Touch ID that could be embedded into the display ditching the home button of the handset. Speculated to house 3GB of RAM, the upcoming iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus may ditch the 3.5mm headphone jack to give way for an all-in-one Lightning connector.

As usual, all these remains as merely speculations and should be taken with a pinch of salt until Apple gives the details of the upcoming iPhone 7 Plus itself.
