The family of an 18-year-old girl who died during a cruise says the FBI has shared little information with them.

Anna Kepner and her family were aboard Carnival Horizon as it sailed from Miami to the Caribbean when the 18-year-old straight-A student died, ABC News reported. The cruise ship returned to Miami this weekend, and the FBI began investigating the case.

No details regarding her death - including whether foul play is suspected - have been made public.

"We were there as a family. Everybody was questioned. Everybody came off that ship. I don't know who they are looking at or what their investigation is," Christopher Kepner, 41 , told The Daily Mail. "The FBI hasn't shared anything with me yet. I would imagine they're going to be in contact with me about it – but I know as little as everybody else."

"I have no idea what is going on right now. We are just trying to sit still and wait for answers," he said, according to The Daily Mail.

The Miami Dade County Medical Examiner lists Kepner's death as happening on Friday, November 7 at 11:17 a.m. No other information is currently listed. The cruise ship returned to port on Saturday morning, and the FBI began its investigation.

Kepner was a high school senior and varsity cheerleader who planned to pursue a career in the military after graduating.

"She had just finished taking the test to join the military," the family told ABC News. "She was already talking to recruiters and had chosen her career path. She wanted to do something that would help her community."
