The Charleston Police Department has released what is believed to be the last image of a teenager before he disappeared early on Halloween morning.
According to police, Owen Tillman Kenney, 19, was walking alone onto the Ravenel Bridge pedestrian walkway shortly after 3 a.m. on October 31.
"While initial reports indicated he was wearing a Boston Celtics jersey based on information available early in the investigation, subsequent evidence now confirms that he was wearing a black hooded jacket, light-colored pants, and black Nike sneakers with white soles. His cell phone's last recorded location was also on the Ravenel Bridge around that same time," police said.
WCBD-2 reported Kenney attended a Halloween event that began Thursday night and extended into the early morning hours of Friday. The station reported that Kenney was seen walking in the direction of his home, which is located on Bull Street.
"He was minutes from his house but never made it home," Kenney's family stated in a Facebook post that asked for the public's help in finding him.
Kenney is originally from Tinton Falls, New Jersey, but had transferred to the College of Charleston in January.
The Charleston Police Department's search for Kenney now includes an underwater recovery team, harbor patrol, K9 units, and drones.
"We would like to thank the countless people who have been looking for Owen and sharing his photos on social media. While we recognize the tremendous public interest and concern surrounding this case, it is important to remember that at the heart of this investigation is a family searching for their loved one," police said.
