A Florida couple's 20th wedding anniversary nearly ended in tragedy after a terrifying road rage incident on Interstate 595 left a woman with a gunshot wound to the head.

The shooter, who remains at large, opened fire on their vehicle in what the victims describe as a chilling, predatory attack.

Jeff and Rondrica, who have chosen not to share their last names for safety reasons, were driving around 8 p.m. on Friday when a black Dodge Ram aggressively approached them at high speed.

"It's like he came up behind us like he was preying [on] us, it's almost like you [were] hunting an animal," Rondrica told NBC6, recalling the terrifying moment.

The couple attempted to change lanes to avoid the speeding truck, but the driver mirrored their movements. "He cut all the lights on his truck," Rondrica said. Jeff, sensing danger, warned his wife moments before the gunman opened fire, but before she could react, a bullet pierced their vehicle.

"Next thing I know, I just hear ringing and banging in my head," Rondrica said, revealing the wound where a bullet grazed the side of her head.

Jeff immediately pulled over and frantically called 911. "Oh God... Hello, I think my wife got shot in the head," Jeff frantically told the 911 dispatcher after pulling over.

Miraculously, Rondrica survived the ordeal and has since been released from the hospital. "I just look at it as a second chance in life that God has given me," she said, overcome with emotion.

The Broward Sheriff's Office is actively searching for the suspect and the black Dodge Ram involved in the attack. A $5,000 reward has been offered for information leading to an arrest.

"This is a very disturbing case," said BSO spokesman Carey Codd. "Detectives with the Violent Crime Unit are asking for any information that could help identify and locate the person responsible for this senseless act."

Anyone with information is urged to contact BSO at 954-321-4888. Rondrica's family has also set up a GoFundMe to help cover her medical expenses.
