An internet sleuth used Citibike data to track the UnitedHealthcare CEO's killer, claiming to have identified the suspect's escape route within minutes of the shooting.

"I am fairly confident of where the United Healthcare assassin escaped to", the user, identifed only as Riley, posted on X. "He escaped on an electric Citibike, according to police."

"I happen to continuously scrape Citibike data every minute", the user went on, "so I can see where individual bikes go."

"The only northbound Citibike to leave within 10 minutes of the shooting from any dock near the hotel went to Madison Ave & E 82nd St."

"Bike #421-6511 left the dock at 54 St & 6 Ave at 6:44 AM, and was docked at 6:52 AM at Madison Ave & 82nd St. This is the *only* bike that left within 10 minutes of the shooting and headed northbound."

The masked gunman opened fire using a silenced weapon on UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson outside a Manhattan hotel, killing the health care executive before escaping the scene on a bike through a nearby alley on Wednesday, police said.

Thompson, 50, who had been with UnitedHealth for 20 years and became CEO in 2021, was struck multiple times, including in the chest, by gunfire, according to police sources. The shooter was not a guest at the hotel, though it remains unclear if he had other reasons to be there, authorities said.

After firing at Thompson from a distance, the gunman fled through the Ziegfeld alleyway and used a bike to make his escape, according to the New York Post.
