A gym teacher at a Florida Christian school has been arrested and is facing child porn charges after allegedly sending suggestive images to a student through Snapchat, police said.

Isaiah Paige, a 25-year-old gym teacher at First Assembly Christian School, was arrested Tuesday after a parent reported that he was allegedly sending inappropriate photos to their daughter, according to the Ocala Police Department.

Police said the mother reportedly found the images sent through Snapchat while going through their 16-year-old daughter's phone. After making the report, a detective reviewed the evidence and found probable cause to arrest Paige.

Paige is facing charges of possession of child pornography, promoting sexual performance by a child, offense against a student by an authority figure, transmission of harmful material to a minor and unlawful use of a two-way communication device.

"This sort of behavior is unacceptable, especially for a person in an authority position over children," the police department said in a statement. "[The mother's] actions not only helped bring the teacher's misconduct to light but also reinforces the importance of parents staying involved in their children's online activities."
