A Tennessee man told his pregnant ex-girlfriend, "I told you I was gonna get you" as he allegedly stabbed her nearly a dozen times with a kitchen knife in front of her friends.

Deandre Wilkins, 35, has been charged with attempted first-degree murder and domestic assault, according to authorities, WATN-TV reported.

It's unclear if he entered a plea.

He is being held on $2 million bond, jail records show.

Wilkins is accused of approaching his former girlfriend walking with a group of friends in a Memphis, Tennessee, parking lot Friday night, when he allegedly punched her in the face. He then allegedly proceeded to stab her 10 times while uttering the words: "I told you I was gonna get you," police said, according to WREG-TV.

The victim, who survived the attack, identified her ex-boyfriend Wilkins – the father of her unborn child – as her assailant.

Wilkins is scheduled to appear in court Oct. 7.
