Bieber did not apply for plea deal, DUI trial set to begin May 5

By

E! Online News said that pop star Justin Bieber is set to appear at a Florida court to face driving under the influence charges beginning May 5. The "Believe" singer was arrested by Miami Beach police on January 23 for illegal drag racing with friends, and later tested positive for having traces of marijuana and Xanax in his system at the time of his detention at the police district. Aside from the DUI charge, E! Online also said that Bieber will also be facing charges of possessing an invalid driver's license and resisting arrest.

It was known that the legal camp of the "Believe" singer did not negotiate for a plea bargain. Bieber reportedly pleaded not guilty to all charges filed against him by the state.

E! Online said that the May 5 court date was a reschedule from his original court appearance after attorneys for the pop star sought injunction of the public release of his photos and videos that shows the private parts of their client while giving a urine sample.

Perhaps a precursor of Bieber's decorum at his DUI trial would be his hours-long video released by celebrity news site TMZ about Bieber's deposition for a separate physical assault case filed against him and his bodyguard by a member of the paparazzi. The video, said TMZ, showed Bieber who became aggressive to the plaintiff's lawyer, with the former claiming that the lawyer's questions were irrelevant to the lawsuit.

On the other hand, Bieber seemed to be positive in light of his many legal woes in several US states. Addressing fans on Twitter yesterday, Bieber shared a positive message to his legion of fans, which read, "Love how some people use to twist and justify the horrible action of others. We all have a right to defend ourselves and feel harassed."
