By

Nina Dobrev fans have been waiting for the moment when she would return as Elena Gilbert to the popular TV show "The Vampire Diaries," as the show draws to an end she finally admitted that she will be returning to take over her role as Elena.

With almost two seasons of absence the producer Kevin Williamson finally shared the first peek of the actress hanging out with a very special co-star. To its surprise it was not Ian Somerhalder but instead her first love Paul Wesley reported TV Guide.

Since the image of her has confirmed her return to the show, the big question is whether Stefan and Elena will conclude their romance with a happy ending on the show. Looking back in the past of "The Vampire Diaries," fans assume that there might be only two possible outcomes at the end. Either Stefan or Elena will get back with their romance or it will be the big brother Damon.

Nothing is known for sure until the finale arrives; perhaps Elena might just go all alone without the Salvatore's. The picture that was shared by Kevin shows that Nina and Paul are working together again. The picture captioned "Friday night with some old friends" on Instagram as per Seventeen.

Since the news is now official the cast and crew are free to share pictures behind the scenes, on the other hand the executive producer Julie Plec tweeted that they filmed an emotional scene that could break hearts during an evening shoot.

He also revealed that two production sets have seen their last action of the series, these include Caroline's house and Damon's bedroom at the Salvatore Manor. This news was certainly tough for some of those fans who especially loved Damon's bedroom. "The Vampire Diaries Season 8" together with Nina Dobrev's return as Elena Gilbert is sure to be with loads of surprises.
