Fan sues Chris Brown and his bodyguard for alleged hotel assault in Washington, DC

By

According to New York Daily News, Maryland art student Parker Adams has sought legal action against R&B artist Chris Brown and a bodyguard for punching him outside a hotel in Washington. Adams' lawyer, John C. Hayes Jr, said his client is asking $1.5 million each from Brown and the bodyguard in lawsuit that was filed on Tuesday

He told The News, "He was treated at the hospital that evening, and his nose was broken. He's still being treated for the fracture and sinus and breathing issues. (My client is) a terrific young man from a great family. He's certainly been traumatized (from the incident)."

The News said that the civil case against Brown came in at the time wherein lawyers for the R&B artist and prosecutors have chosen date for the trial on a related misdemeanor assault charge, which will be held in the Superior Court in Washington. At the hearing, Brown was absent, but had lawyers submit his not guilty plea. The News said that a judge has granted Brown a waiver as he is currently under anger management rehab at a facility located in southern California.

On October 27, Adams claimed Brown had struck him after attempting to crash a photo of Brown with two other people at that time, a police narrative read. Based on Adams' statement, Brown allegedly snapped at the former's abrupt actions, and reacted with the punch. Police then arrested Brown just blocks away from the incident.

On Thursday, Adams claimed that the proceeds that he will be obtaining from the lawsuit would go towards the costs he had spent for his medical bills, which included visits to specialists to improve his breathing problems.

The News said that should Brown gets convicted with the Washington assault charge, he is looking to serve a 180-day jail sentence and could get more jail time if the judge on his assault case lodged by ex-girlfriend and pop singer Rihanna found that he violated his probation in the Adams incident.
