'Knockout Game:' Potential 'Hate Crimes' Suspected As NYPD Investigate Teenage Attacks On Random Bystanders (VIDEO)

By

The New York City police authorities are investigating a series of deliberate physical attacks in public places in which Jews have largely been singled out and punched in the face in what has been called "knockout," The New York Post reported.

This "game" involves someone in a black teenage gang decides to knock down a stranger in the streets, "preferably with one punch as they pass by. Often, some other member of the group records the event so that a video of that... is put on the Internet to be celebrated," as reported by The New York Post.

It is predominantly done by young black youths attacking either whites, Asians or Jews.

"Attacks of this sort have been rampant in St. Louis. But they have also occurred in Massachusetts, Wisconsin and elsewhere. In Illinois, the game has often been called 'polar-bear hunting' by the young thugs," The New York Post also reported.

The latest victim involves a 78-year-old woman from Midwood in Brooklyn, New York this week, kxlk.com reported.

"She had her purse, she had bags from department stores. There was not even an attempt to take anything from her. It was just a wanton act to hurt another human being," the victim's daughter said.

The woman described how her mother had been attacked in broad daylight by a black male who hit her with his fist, then ran away without taking anything from her. The Midwood grandmother did not report the incident because she thought it was an isolated incident, according to her daughter.

"I just returned from addressing this issue in Crown Heights where this problem has been widespread only to find that an elderly woman in my district had been brutally punched in the head," Assemblyman Dov Hikind told reporters.

"This innocent woman is 78 and she is lucky to still be alive after such a vicious assault. To make matters worse, she was too afraid to even go to the police. I learned of the incident when her son called me to ask for greater police vigilance because this 'knock-out' rampage is occurring more and more frequently-not just in Crown Heights but also Midwood and many other neighborhoods," Hikind added

Other "knockout" attack victims in Brooklyn include a 20-year-old man from Israel and a 12-year-old boy who was attacked on his way to Hebrew school. An attack in Pittsburgh involved a 50-year-old teacher struck by a 15-year-old black male.

46-year-old Ralph Santiago died after his head was slammed into an iron fence in Hoboken, New Jersey by a black teen. The attack was caught on video and three were arrested. They were 13 and 14 years old, according to kxlf.com.
