Terrell Texas: Suspect Charles Everett Brownlow Jr. Arrested On Suspicion Of Killing 5 People In 4 Places (Video)

Terrell, Texas police arrested Charles Everett Brownlow Jr. early Tuesday morning on suspicion of killing five people in four places, The Associated Press reported. Brownlow is suspect of killing his mother and four others. His brother said that he has struggled with drug addiction.

Police have yet to disclose the preliminary charges against Brownlow who was arrested following a high-speed chase, news reports said. Brownlow ihas a long criminal history that includes a conviction for assaulting a family member, The AP repoted.

"We're all in a state of shock. You have a tendency to think, 'How can that happen here?' This is a country community, a rural community, people are real close. This is going to be, it's going to have a really big impact on us, " said police Chief Jody Lay at a news conference.

The police have not discussed a possible motive for the series of attacks perpetrated by Brownlow

All total, five people were killed over a few hours in four places in Terrell, Texas.

"A police helicopter and dogs were summoned to assist in the manhunt, and the suspect was found hiding in a creek," The AP also reported

"We're still in the process of putting this massive investigation together," Lay said. "We're still making sure that surviving family members are appropriately notified."
