Ted Cruz launches anti-Kasich attack ad in Wisconsin

Ted Cruz has shifted his campaign focus against John Kasich as the final day of voting primary nears. Cruz has recently launched television ads and sent mailers to attack the governor.

According to ABC News, before the Wisconsin primary, Republican presidential candidate Ted Cruz emphasized on the negative aspects of his rival, John Kasich, using attack ads and mailers. Cruz released a 30-second television ad this weekend that explores Kasich's connection and relationship with the Worthington Industries. The company is one of the Fortune 500 and is known to have laid off more than hundreds of employees including 115 in Ohio where Kasich is governing.

Cruz has also sent mailers to Wisconsinites, highlighting the governor's spending policy during his tenure in the state and his beliefs or perspectives on guns and military. It should be noted that this is the first time Cruz campaigned to release negatives about the governor.

CNN reported that the spot even claimed that "The company laid off 100 Ohioans even as the CEO cut a half-million dollar check to Kasich's super PAC. John Kasich's not for us." Kasich's chief strategist, John Weaver, said the governor had no say to the received tax credits, noting he even burned up the battle by citing Cruz's own ethical red flag.

John Weaver said in a statement that "Ted Cruz is recycling failed Democrat attacks in a desperate effort to smear Gov. Kasich. It didn't work for dishonest Ohio Democrats in 2014 and won't work for deceptive Ted Cruz now."

Lastly, WVTM13 wrote that Ted Cruz and his aid have been slowly trying to release negatives on him since Kasich became a serious obstacle to his strategy by winning Ohio on March 15.

Cruz's super PAC run negative spots last week against him in Wisconsin and now, the they are continuing the scrutiny of Kasich's record as a governor of Ohio. One Wisconsin mailer even said that John Kasich is having the worst spending policy as a governor of a state.
