DC's Lobo solo film gets Wonder Woman writer Jason Fuchs

By

The Lobo solo film has long been announced by DC and although the progress may have been slow in the recent years, Warner Bros is moving it ahead by enlisting writer Jason Fuchs. However, no actor has been attached to the role yet as Dwayne Johnson is already attached to a different DC flick.

As reported by Daily Superheroes, Wonder Woman writer Jason Fuchs was tapped by the studio to write the upcoming film. He is set to write the film from scratch although a story was previously worked on by Brad Peyton.

Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson was previously linked to the titular role as he previously teased about starring in the DCEU as an anti-hero. But his casting as Black Adam in the upcoming Shazam movie served as confirmation that he will not be playing as Lobo.

The film was previously thought dead, as details eventually went scarce for the project. Although not much has been revealed about the project until now, Fuchs' hiring could mean that the project is progressing. According to Den of Geek, no actor, director, or release date has been announced yet for Lobo.

Lobo has been a popular anti-hero in DC as a mercenary who with super strength, violent tendencies and healing power. However, he works with a code of ethics which is the reason he is considered as an anti-hero than a villain.

According to Wired, Lobo has been reincarnated in the comics with different back stories. He was initially presented as the survivor of the Velorpian, and again as a Czarnian who murdered all members of his race. The latter version became more popular, before he was portrayed again as a cold killer with special liking for knives.

It is unknown whether one of the previous iterations of the character would be chosen for the Lobo movie, although, the direction for Fuchs to write from scratch could also mean a new backstory.
