'The Vampire Diaries' Season 7: Ian Somerhalder leaving to start movie career? 'Days of the Past' episode airs April 1

Rumors have spread that Ian Somerhalder will leave the show after "The Vampire Diaries" Season 7 to start his movie career. Also, The CW has released the official plot description of episode 16 'Days of the Past' while the recap for last week's episode 15 'I Would For You' is made available here for fans who have missed to watch it.

Rumor has it that lead actor Ian Somerhalder, who plays the character of Damon Salvatore, will not be a part of "The Vampire Diaries" Season 8. According to Inquisitr, such rumors stemmed when Nikki Reed pushes him to start his movie career.

As for the official plot of episode 16, Spoilers Guide notes, "Damon offers to have Stefan's scar magically transferred to him and discovers that doing so may come with unexpected consequences. With time running out and Rayna closing in on Stefan, Valerie desparately attempts to reason with Damon before its too late; After being framed from breaking Rayna out of The Armory, Enzo attempts to clear his name, but not before a violent run-in with Nora forces him to make a recovery."

"The Vampire Diaries" Season 7 Episode 16 is entitled as "Days of the Past". The forthcoming episode is scheduled to premiere on Friday, April 1, 2016 at 8:00 p.m first and exclusive on The CW.
