Rolf Harris to Appear in Court Next Month in Relation to Indecent Assaults Charges

Australian entertainer, Rolf Harris has been indicted with seven counts of indecent assaults by female victims. The offences allegedly started back in the year 1971 to 2004 with the complainants who were aged 12 and 27 years old at the time the entertainer committed the crime. Harris is set to appear in court next month.

The Guardian reported, the charges were filed by seven victims according to the Crown Prosecution Service. The CPS also explained the charges were brought out from the investigations conducted by Operation Yewtree,  Jimmy Savile inquiry by the Met police and other high-profile individuals under suspicion of sexual abuse on children.

"We have carefully considered the evidence gathered by the Metropolitan Police Service as part of Operation Yewtree in relation to Rolf Harris," the CPS said. Harris will stand for trial in Westminster Magistrates Court scheduled on March 17, 2016, the Mirror reported.

He has been charged on Friday at the Metropolitan police including, indecent assault on a girl under the age of 14 years between 10 and 11 July 1971, indecent assault on a girl under the age of 14 years between 1 January 1977 and 31 December 1977, indecent assault on a woman aged 16 years or over on 17 September 1977 and other charges.

The Australian artist and musician have enjoyed his star variety of career. According to Daily Mail, Harris has been seen perform for the British royal Queen. He even painted a portrait for the queen. He gained fame way back in the 1960s with comedic song Jake the Peg. The 85 year old entertainer previously became a television personality in the United Kingdom. He is known for his catchphrase, ''Can you tell what it is yet?''.

Harris was convicted in the year 2014 of 12 counts of indecent assault against four girls, the youngest of was an eight year old at the time of the assault.
