‘Batman: Arkham Knight’ updates: Re-release to feature ‘Batman vs. Superman’ DLC; ‘Arkham Asylum,’ ‘Arkham City’ coming to Xbox One, PS4?

By

A re-release of 2015's "Batman: Arkham Knight" is expected to arrive this year and according to reports, it will be marketed as a complete edition. But, to set it apart from the original launch version, developer Rocksteady Studios will reportedly include a DLC based on the upcoming "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" film.

With the premiere of the follow-up to 2013's "Man of Steel" getting nearer, the tie-in with "Arkham Knight" sounds exciting. But, as noted by Gaming Bolt, gamers shouldn't probably expect much from the bundled content update as it will only feature the Batsuit and Batmobile that actor Ben Affleck will use in the upcoming film.

Although these two additions are also great, it probably would have been better if it featured a minor storyline that would allow gamers to play as or fight against Superman. As for its launch date, it is not yet clear when the complete edition will come out but according to Independent, this version of the game has been listed with a March debut by online retailers including Amazon Germany. Although this is unconfirmed yet, the period coincides with the premiere of "Dawn of Justice," which is set at March 25.

But aside from the new edition of "Batman: Arkham Knight," the developer is also rumored to be working on the next-gen console versions of previous titles from the series. According to Ecumenical News, an anonymous tipster who, apparently knows the internal projects of publisher Warner Bros., recently revealed that developers are working on remastered versions of "Batman: Arkham Asylum" and "Batman: Arkham City."

These titles kicked off the series when they came out in 2009 and 2011 respectively. Given the available gaming systems during those year, these two titles were released for the Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.

For the remastered versions, Warner Bros. and Rocksteady Studios are reportedly planning to launch them for the Xbox One and PlayStation 4. However, there are no details yet if the third main title from the series, "Batman: Arkham Origins," will also be remastered.
