Free Shotguns 15 Cities: The Armed Citizen Projects Hopes to Distribute Firearms to Residents Throughout America (Video)

By

The Armed Citizen Project, like its name connotes, proposed over the weekend that they hope to arm citizens by giving them shotguns, to protect from criminals. Their aim is reportedly to give out shotguns to people in fifteen cities throughout America, including Chicago, CBS Chicago reported.

The group has already started giving out the guns in Houston where at least four mothers have received free guns. Giving out these free guns are designed for people living in medium to high crime areas so that they can defend themselves from criminals.

"It's our hypothesis that criminals do not want to die in your hallway.," Kyle Coplen said, describing the guns as a deterrent to would-be criminals. "We're giving folks the tools with which to defend their life, liberty and property, we're training them how to use the weapons and empowering citizens." The proposed idea by the Armed Citizen Project is sure to draw much controversy, as Americans are divided over gun control.
