Suspects' Aunt Threats: Maret Tsarnaeva Believes Her Nephews, Suspected Terrorists, Are Innocent

By

The aunt of the two suspects of the Boston Marathon bombings still believes her nephews are innocent. Maret Tsarnaeva also claims she has also received numerous threats since she came forward last Friday, CNews reported.

"They are calling us, calling names, threatening, saying it's time to go home," Tsarnaeva said on Saturday.

"Yes, it is time. We did not find that promise -democracy- in this country. But if I go home, I will go home only with bodies of my nephews," she added.

Tsarnaeva blamed the U.S. government for involving her nephews in a 'conspiracy' after learning that they had been captured.

"They made them victims of the conspiracy," she said.

Last Friday, Tsarnaeva said there was no way that her nephews could be part of the "terrible, horrible act that was committed in the streets of Boston," adding that the FBI was incriminating them based on mere photos of them simply for walking near the marathon finish line on Monday.

"I have these two nephews - smart boys, good boys- they have no motive for that. They have no ideas to do this kind of act. It's just not the case, it cannot be true," she said.

After learning that one of his sons Dzhokhar was captured alive, Anzor Tsarnaev, in Russia, felt relieved, imploring him to "tell police everything. Everything. Just be honest," he said. Since then, Dzokhar has begun to talk to investigators, after nearly killing himself with an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound, impairing his ability to speak.

Last Thursday, while on the run, the Tsarnaev brothers shot and killed an MIT security officer, and seriously wounded another Boston police officer. Suspect 1 Tamerlan died in the gun battle. They are both suspected of perpetrating the terror blasts at the Boston Marathon, which killed three and wounded over 180 people.
