By

An amateur video shot using a cell phone shows a fertilizer plant in West, Texas, burning and then suddenly a loud explosion.

The power of the Texas fertilizer plant explosion has reportedly killed between 5 and 15 people, and injured many more, causing extensive damage to dozens of local homes, a nursing home, and middle school, NBC News reported.

The man who shot the footage was sitting in his car watching the flames with a child in the back seat and after the explosion, the little child is heard screaming in the background, according to Reuters.
