Sony Xperia Z5 Compact Android 6.0 Marshmallow Release Update

Android 6.0 Marshmallow update will officially be rolling out to Sony Xperia Z5 Compact smartphones anytime this quarter. Sony revealed on its support page that Android 6.0 Marshmallow is the next software version of the flagship device that will be coming very soon.

Sony Xperia Z5 Compact smartphones are bound for the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update as soon as January 2016. The first update of Android 6.0 has already been rolled out so this might also be the version that Xperia Z5 Compact and other devices will receive.

Marshmallow comes with premium features, additions and enhancements that will definitely change every user's Android experience. It comes in stages over-the-air (OTA) so other users from other parts of the globe have to wait when it officially releases.

Although, there has been no official word yet from the Japanese tech giant as to the exact release date, hopes remain high for Xperia Z5 Compact owners since Sony already promised beforehand to do its best to fast track updates.

Android 6.0 Marshmallow will also be available to Xperia Z5, Xperia Z5 Premium, Xperia Z4 Tablet, Xperia Z3, Xperia Z3+, Xperia Z3 Compact, Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact, Xperia Z2, Xperia Z2 Tablet, Xperia M5, Xperia M4 Aqua, Xperia C5 Ultra, Xperia C4 and Xperia Z Ultra GPE.

Meanwhile, Sony was able to release its concept of the Android 6.0 Marshmallow software sporting very impressive tweaks and out-of-the-box features. It was first tried on Xperia Z3 and Xperia Z3 Compact devices.

The Marshmallow concept brings faster system performance and a killer battery life improvement. It also offers Google's native features like Doze Mode, a battery saving feature, and the new app permissions. It also brings a new home launcher that allows users to switch the app names within the dock on and off. Included here as well are media apps Album, Music and the stock Camera app.
