Hurricane Sandy has devastated many regions on the East Coast. The storm, which has been called the greatest storm on the East Coast, has caused power black outs in many areas, destroyed homes and lives as well as completely debilitated the New York City transit system.
President Barrack Obama visited the Red Cross and thanked the organization for its service during the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy, which hit the East Coast over the weekendresident Obama said, "we want to thank them (Red Cross) for their outstanding work," as reported by NBC News.
Hurricane Sandy has left the New York City Subway system completely debilitated. Although, the bus services have resumed, all subway lines remain close leading to enormous traffic problems on the road. In a news conference on Wednesday, New York Governor Andrew Cuomo announced that limited service for the Long Island Rail Road and Metro North would resume at 2:00 pm that afternoon.
