If you are fans of the "Big Bang Theory" since 2007, there is a possibility that you would be giving your TiVo a rest for a little while longer. The producers of the award-winning comedy series has announced that the production for the show's Season 8 has been postponed due to a failure to reach contract agreements of its stars.

Warner Bros. TV said in a statement, "Due to ongoing contract negotiations, production on The Big Bang Theory-which was originally scheduled to begin today-has been postponed."

The Huffington Post said that CBS, who has been broadcasting the beloved sitcom which initially focused on a pair of roommate-scientists whose mundane lives are disrupted by an attractive neighbor next door, was unable to work out contract terms amenable to the show's stars. Jim Parsons, Johnny Galecki, Kaley Cuoco-Sweeting, Simon Helberg and Kunal Nayyar are said to be looking for substantial raises in their pay. E! News said Parsons, Galecki and Cuoco-Sweeting are specifically looking to earn somewhere in the range of "Friends" money, which is technically around a million dollars per episode.

It is to note that CBS has recently renewed "Big Bang Theory" for three more seasons. Earlier this month, CBS boss Nina Tassler expressed her confidence to reporters at the 2014 TCA Summer Press Tour that everything would work out soon despite the contract standoff.

"We're feeling very confident that everything will work out. year after year," she said.

Creator Chuck Lorre is also feeling the same way as well. He told E!, "It will be fine. Warner Brothers has done this before. Everybody should be very successful and happy and rich. They earned it. It's a great cast. Great cast. It's their time."

If there's reason to believe that the upcoming season will push through as scheduled is that somehow, Warner Bros. TV did not announce any changes to the show's return to television. "Big Bang Theory" is slated to return on Monday, September 22, and will return to its original Thursday timeslot in October.
