The show of support was definitely needed by singer Chris Brown as the potential outcome of his misdemeanor trial in Washington could mean extra jail time. Brown's mother, Joyce Hawkins, and his on-off girlfriend Karrueche Tran were joined by a small entourage as they arrive at the Columbia Superior Court on Friday, Daily Mail said.

Both Hawkins and Tran wore dark clothing, and no smiles came from the two as they walked into the courthouse.

Following his jail time at a Los Angeles prison for a separate sentence, Brown was whisked away by US Federal Marshalls to escort and travel with him across the country in a government-issued vehicle for his court date in Washington. The order came from a Washington judge, who denied allowing Brown's attorney to be the singer's custodian for his misdemeanor trial.

A 20 year-old man has filed a lawsuit against Brown and his body Christopher Hollosy for punching him in the face while he tried to get into a selfie along with his girlfriend. According to the Daily Mail, the Grammy winner will spend up to four years in prison should the court find him guilty in the DC case.

Adams, who testified at a District of Columbia Superior Court, said that he was with his female friends when they approached brown outside a W Hotel. Brown, who agreed to have his photo taken with his two companions, made a homophobic remark about Adams being gay when the latter tried to get in the photo.

A heated conversation escalated quickly, of which Adams claimed he was then hit by Brown just below the nose.

"As I put my dukes up, that's when the bodyguard stepped in between us and he slugged me in the face," Adams said.

Brown's troubles with the law started when he assaulted his then-girlfriend, singer Rihanna, in 2009. Last month, he was incarcerated for violating his probation related to the 2009 assault. Daily Mail said Brown was also involved in altercations with rapper and Rihanna's rumored boyfriend Drake in a nightclub in New York, and R&B singer Frank Ocean in a Los Angeles parking lot.
