Apple's two biggest events this year may still be months away but the Cupertino-based firm's upcoming flagship iterations are gaining more spotlight as some of its most important features and specifications are now being leaked. Rumor mills are indicating that iPhone 8 and iPhone 7S are getting a stainless steel frame and aluminum aluminum alloy.

According to "sources from the upstream supply chain," as cited by GSMArena, the forthcoming iPhone 8 is slated to sport a stainless steel frame along with a glass sandwich design. In addition, the 5.8-inch model that is speculated to come with Samsung's OLED panel is going to be the firm's most premium device yet. And with a price tag of $1000+, the next device's stainless steel frame is tipped to be made by Foxconn and Jabil Circuit.

Meanwhile, the other anticipated iPhone variants this year, iPhone 7S, is reportedly heading for an aluminum structure. Its chassis' aluminum alloy is going to be manufactured by Catcher Technology. On the other hand, "7S Plus" design has not been confirmed yet but it is expected to be equipped with the same material of its sibling iPhone 7S. Moreover, the two "7S" siblings are slated to arm the same design of last year's iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus.

In related news, The Korean Herald has shared that Apple has now ordered 160 million OLED panels from Samsung Display for its iPhone 8. This is a considerable increase from its initial request of 100 million back in 2016. Accordingly, this unprecented beefing up of its of request would provide Samsung an additional $4.3 billion.

Despite the recent decline of Apple's iPhone sales, the company is still above it 200 million a year mark. iPhone 8 is slated to be unveiled on Sept. 2017. This year also marks the company's 10th year anniversary in manufacturing the iconic device.
