Parents of a 15-year old boy who recently committed suicide are filing to settle their lawsuit for a hefty sum of $7.5 million.

The incident is not a fresh one and took place in August 2013. Connecticut-based parents of the child gave moved to settle their wrongful death case against the town of Greenwich and its school system.

The parents hold the town and its educational system responsible for the death of their son, stating that the school officials were aware of what was happening but failed to put an end to it. It was Bartlomeij "Bart" F. Palosz's first day of sophomore year at the Greenwich High School.

His parents said that it was the first time that his older sister, who had recently graduated, was not around to keep an eye on him. They also stated that their child was "subjected to a years-long history of unremitting bullying" at both the high school and his previous school, Western Middle School.

The school principal responded by saying that Bart was dealt with harshly because "he pushes people's buttons".

Parents, Anna and Franciszek Palosz, filed papers for settlement in the Stamford Superior Court this Wednesday. The town and local school's lawyers have not commented on the move, yet.

"Bart" shot himself in the head at his home after he came back from school that day. The tragedy happened only a few hours after his first day at the school.

In response to statements that hold the school staff liable for failure to discipline the children who bullied "Bart" or investigate the matter, lawyers of the school system state that the local school system has immunity against the lawsuit.

Additionally, the town lawyers added that the town government is not liable whatsoever in this regard. Parents of the decease child however continue in their struggle to cope with their tragedy and work towards eliminating any future such occurrence.
