Following withdrawal of Marshmallow release on Sony Xperia Z5 in Canada last week due to the Play Store bug, upgrade on Xperia Z3 units in the United States could possibly be affected. The latest release date details on mobile carriers are outlined here.

Sony Xperia Z3 units are bound for the Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow this quarter in the United States. Although there were already unlocked versions that have been updated, many Xperia Z3 owners feared that the Marshmallow update will be cancelled for a later date brought by the bug issues that had happened to Canadian Xperia Z5 phones.

Although there is no official statement coming from the Japanese giant as to when they will release such update on Xperia Z3 among US carriers, it should only come within the April-June timeframe. Last month, Sony was able to announce on Twitter to release Marshmallow on several devices including Xperia Z5, Xperia Z5 Premium, Xperia Z5 Compact, Xperia Z4 Tablet, and Xperia Z3+. The upgrade was unfortunately followed by a bug attacks.

Later on, it was discovered that Google Play Store bug was affecting the overall system of these devices, causing Sony to advise device owners to reset their phones to factory settings. However, this did not make phones go well as only select devices were able to experience recuperation.

According to a tech site, the Marshmallow update shall be released on Xperia Z3 units under Verizon Wireless, AT&T, Sprint, US Cellular and T-Mobile without a hint of fear as Sony already released the fix to counter future problems that the bug may cause.

Mid last month, Sony already released the beta version of Android 6.0 on Xperia Z3 and other phones. The unofficial upgrade brought remarkable changes on the device to include the camera app, home launcher, permissions, text editing, sharing capabilities, and a lot more.
