The movie version of the popular point-click game Five Nights at Freddy's is currently in the works, and while its plot details are still being kept tight under wraps, director Gil Kenan has been generous in teasing little pieces of information through his social media accounts.

Kenan has been busy working on the upcoming film perhaps indirectly updating fans of their progress in the production. As reported by Christian Today, Kenan has recently shared a photo on Twitter of an animatronic's head which many speculated to be part of the film.

Kenan captioned the photo with the words "Watch that thumb" pertaining to a person's thumb placed at the animatronic's lower lip to keep its head steady. However, what is more intriguing in the photo is the fact that the animatronic's head was of a human head instead of the animal mascots' as portrayed in the game. This sparked speculations that it could be one of the twists to be expected from the film.

According to Yibada, Kenan is working alongside game franchise creator Scott Cawthon in developing the film and making sure it sticks to its lore. Seth Grahame-Smith as well as Roy Lee and David Katzenberg of KatzSmith productions are set to produce the upcoming flick.

The announcement about the upcoming film was made last year  when Warner Bros officially got the rights to make the movie. According to Cross Map, Cawthon previously teased fans to expect horror that will be relatable for them. "The story really lends itself to being a movie, and it taps into a largely unexplored niche of horror that a lot of people will be able to relate to", Cawthon said.

Hollywood has been trying to develop films over the years based on popular game franchises but not all of them proved to be of best quality; thus, fans have been keeping an eye on the upcoming Five Nights at Freddy's movie. More details about the project are expected to be revealed along with its yet to be announced official release date.
