Samsung Galaxy S6 G920F Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow Update via CarHDRom: How to Install

Samsung Galaxy S6 with model number G920F is the latest device eligible for Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow update via CarHDRom custom ROM. This custom build promises to give the device the same visuals the official Marshmallow has on top of many enhancements.

The CarHDRom ROM supports TouchWiz launcher and it is Deodexed, zipaligned and contains pre-installed super-user so rooting is not a problem after installing it. Developers of the custom firmware promised that CarHDRom is 'bound to be stable at every cost.'

Before proceeding with the download and installation of CarHDRom, Team Android puts a couple of reminders and prerequisites for interested device owners:

1.     Make sure that Samsung Galaxy S6 has model number G920F. Using other variant may cause severe damage to phone. To know the model number of the phone, go to Settings > About device or About phone.

2.     Install TWRP Recovery on Galaxy S6 here.

3.     Back up all necessary data here, including apps, SMS messages, contacts, call history, APN settings and more. Samsung KIES can also be used for backup.

4.     Connect the device to any PC using a USB driver. Download a driver here.

5.     Installing the any custom ROM induces risk of damaging device. Neither this site nor developers of the CarHDRom will be held responsible for such damage.

Here's how to download and install Android 6.0.1 CarHDRom to Samsung Galaxy S6 G920F:

1.     Down load Android 6.0.1 CarHDRom ROM here for Samsung Galaxy S6 G920F on PC.

2.     Connect phone to PC using the USB cable.

3.     Copy then paste downloaded ROM to phone's memory or SD card.

4.     Switch off phone and plug it out from the PC.

5.     Go to Recovery Mode by press holding volume up, home and power buttons.

6.     Choose 'Wipe' to delete of data and 'Swipe to Factory Reset'.

7.     Go to main menu and choose 'Install'. Choose the copied ZIP file on the phone.

8.     Choose 'Swipe to Confirm Flash'.

9.     Wait for the installation to complete.

10.  When phone gets into any boot loops or other troubles, tap 'Wipe cache/dalvik' button.

11.  Choose 'Reboot System'.

To verify the update, to go Settings > About phone.
