The sequel to the budding "Titanfall" series may not have an official release date yet but new details about the game are already starting to pour out. According to Jesse Stern, head writer for the game, "Titanfall 2" will come with all-new features including a real single-player campaign and magical elements.

When the first game came out in 2014, a lot of gamers were disappointed because aside from its Xbox exclusivity, the first-person shooter only delivered an online experience. This left a lot of gamers battling it out with AI-controlled characters and a little bit of storyline.

But, as noted by Stern during an interview with Forbes, "Titanfall 2" will come with an actual solo mode. Although the scribe did not go into detail regarding its gameplay, having a campaign aspect could mean that "Titanfall 2" will deliver a deeper and richer story.

In addition, Stern revealed that the second game in the series will also incorporate magical elements. For some gamers, this may probably not sit well with the post-apocalyptic and mech themes of the franchise but Stern promised that even with magical aspects, the game will still feel realistic. He also said that the magical concepts in the game will be mixed with science.

But aside from discussing the features of the game, the interview with Stern also revealed that a television adaptation of "Titanfall" might also be in the works. As reported by DNA India, Stern began his writing career drafting scripts for television programs. In fact, he is credited for working on "NCIS," "Jake 2.0" and "The Mountain."

Working on "Titanfall" could serve as Stern's return to the television platform as Vince Zampella, the head of development studio Respawn Entertainment, is currently interested in drafting a script for an animated television series based on the game. Hopefully, more details regarding this potential project will be discussed by the developers in the near future.

As for "Titanfall 2," the game is expected to come out sometime next year. And, since it will no longer be tied to the Xbox One and Microsoft Windows platforms, the game will also be available for the PlayStation 4, according to PC Advisor.
