Sony Xperia Z5, Z5 Compact Now Available in US; Devices With Manufacturer Warranty But Without Fingerprint Scanner

A lot of Sony patrons will be much delighted as the Xperia Z5 and Xperia Z5 Compact are now obtainable in US. These handsets are said to be unlocked with manufacturer's warranty but without the fingerprint scanner.

According to Tech Times, Sony's flagship smartphones, Xperia Z5 and Xperia Z5 Compact were released late last year. These handsets have become available in other parts of the globe for the last few months prior to their arrival in the country. The buyers can usually purchase these handsets from the company's official store in the United States. But now, by clicking the buy button at the website, it will lead them to Amazon's listing pages for these smartphones. With this, it is really possible that Sony have decided to sell the Xperia Z5 and Z5 Compact through Amazon, rather than selling them directly through the company's website.

International Business Times added that the unlocked version of Xperia Z5 and Z5 Compact sold in Amazon has manufacturer's warranty. Butthese handsets are not equipped with the fingerprint sensor that is supposed to be embedded on the home button. It is also worth mentioning that the Xperia phones are reportedly compatible with T-Mobile and AT&T.

When it comes with specifications and features, the Xperia Z5 sports a 5.2-inch display, bundled with 1,080 x 1920 pixels screen resolution. Under its chassis, this device is engineered with a Snapdragon 810 chipset paired with an octa-core processor that is clocked at 2.0 GHz.

This handset is packed with a huge 3 GB of RAM and  32 GB of built-in storage space. The memory can be expanded through microSD card with capacity of up to 200 GB. As for its camera, it is armored with a killer 23-megapixel main camera and a 5.1-megapixel front-facing snapper. It is powered by a 2,900 mAh capacity battery unit and has IP68 certification.

On the other hand, the Sony Xperia Z5 Compact shares most of the features with the flagship Z5. Nonetheless, it features a pocket-friendly 4.6-inch display and 720 x 1,280 pixels resolution. Other differences include 2 GB of RAM and 2,700 mAh capacity battery unit.

Both of these handsets are running on Android 5.1 Lollipop OS. However, they are upgradable to Android 6.0 Marshmallow.

Additionally Phandroid reported that the Sony Xperia Z5 is now purchasable at Amazon and Newegg. This handset is tagged at $599.99. As for Sony Xperia Z5 Compact, it can be obtained through Best Buy, Amazon and Newegg at $499.99.

With Sony Xperia Z5 and Z5 Compact's availability on e-retailer stores, this will be a great chance for those who want to buy an unlocked model. These flagship handsets from Sony are also obtainable through AT&T and T-Mobile carriers.
