Motorola executive, David Schuster, just revealed that Moto G (2nd Gen) and 2014 Moto G with 4G LTE (2nd Gen) will begin receiving the official over-the-air (OTA) release of Android 6.0 Marshmallow update after the soak test has finally commenced. Soak test for the second generation Moto G has just begun yesterday.

Motorola Moto G (2nd Gen) and 2014 Moto G with 4G LTE (2nd Gen) phones are confirmed the next phones of the company under the lab for soak test. David Schuster, senior director for software product management of Motorola, announced yesterday on Google+ that the company has already started its soak test for the Android 6.0 Marshmallow software to these devices in Brazil and India.

In Schuster's very own words, he stated: "I'm pleased to announce that we are starting the soak test for Android 6.0 Marshmallow upgrade for the 2014 Moto G (2nd Gen) and 2014 Moto G with 4G LTE (2nd Gen) for Brazil and India retail channels devices. We will monitor the soak for next week and with good results, proceed to full launch."

A few days ago, Motorola issued release notes for 2014 Moto G (2ng Gen) confirming the Marshmallow update for the device.

Meanwhile, Android 6.0 Marshmallow software will bring in a host of new features including a new app drawer, lock screen tweaks, and a minimalist home screen.

The new app drawer is one of the notable changes brought by the update to the user interface. Ditching the horizontal scrolling method which a Jelly Bean pioneer, Google replaces it with a vertical one. This way, the new scroll speeds up navigation to apps.

If scrolling seems to be a whole lot of a chore, the search bar indexed right on the app drawer will carry users to the specific apps. Or, simply choose among the recently apps located at the top of the drawer.
