Verizon has started rolling out Android 5.1.1 Lollipop to the Samsung Galaxy Note 4. The device is set to get Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow update on February 2016.

Users of Samsung Galaxy Note 4 purchased from carrier Verizon have begun receiving Android 5.1.1 Lollipop update on their devices. Neurogadget reported that Verizon has just provided OTA updates of Lollipop for Galaxy Note 4 phablets, falling behind other carriers such as Spring, AT&T, and T-Mobile.

According to the report, Android 5.1.1 Lollipop will add Android for Work to the Samsung Galaxy Note 4. This new feature will sort and segregate mobile apps from work or business apps. Android 5.1.1 Lollipop will also do away with Amazon App Store and Amazon Widgets pre-installed in the Galaxy Note 4.

Lawyer Herald said in a previous report that the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 is slated to receive the Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow upgrade as well. Samsung already started releasing Android 6.0 Marshmallow to Galaxy Notes outside United States. The company is also testing the latest 6.0.1 Marshmallow update on some phones.

The Samsung Galaxy Note 4 could tentatively get the Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow update on February 2016. The platform upgrade will bring security patches, new emojis, and Galaxy Note 5's screen-off memo feature. Users can use this functionality to record notes with the S pen while the device is in deep sleep mode.

Meanwhile, Gottabemobile stated that Samsung has not yet launched the official stable Android Marshmallow build to the public. The company has only released beta versions of Marshmallow for testing on the Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge in South Korea and the United Kingdom.

It is believed that Samsung will roll out Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow, the latest software update, to its devices once experiments are done. T-Mobile announced that it will release Marshmallow updates to the Galaxy S6, S6 Edge, and S6 Edge+.

The carrier has also announced that the Galaxy Note 5 will get updated to Marshmallow. However, the specific date of the update release is still unknown.
