California Sheriff's Deputy Busted With 250 Pounds Of Marijuana

An investigation regarding three men, including a California sheriff's deputy, has been launched after police officials seized 250 pounds of marijuana in their possession.

York County District Attorney Tom Kearney said on Monday that aside from the marijuana, they also found $100 and $20 bills, a handgun, and other items. The law enforcement agencies connected to the drug bust are the York County Drug Task Force and Penn Township, Springettsbury Township, Hanover Borough and York Area Regional police departments.

In a report by The Evening Sun, the incident took place in the early morning hours last December 29 in Pennsylvania. Officials were conducting a traffic stop. The three men tried to deliver marijuana to a person located in the 100 block of Frogtown Road.

The three men were identified as 37-year-old Christopher Mark Heath, 31-year-old Tyler Neil Long, and 27-year-old Ryan Jay Falsone, all of them are from Bangor, California. There was a total of 122 sealed bags of marijuana inside the car plus $11,000 in cash. Heath is the California sheriff's deputy and officials did not know that he worked in law enforcement.

Mint Press News also reported that upon discovery that Heath is a law enforcement official, he thought, "One has to be both saddened and angry when you hear of something like this. The work that is done by the task force and police officers in general is very dangerous work, and it is made more dangerous by the fact that occasionally there is a bad apple in the barrel."

It is unclear how long has officials been working on the drug bust and if it is the first time that the three men came to Pennsylvania to allegedly sell drugs.

Inquisitr reported that all three men have been charged with possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance and criminal conspiracy. They all posted $1 million bail through a Maryland bondsman last December 29.

They are scheduled for a preliminary hearing on February 11 before District Judge James Miner.
