‘xXx: The Return of Xander Cage’ Cast Update: Jet Li, Tony Jaa, and Deepika Padukone Join Vin Diesel

In the summer of 2014, Vin Diesel announced that he would finally be getting back to the tough and adrenaline-charged character of Xander Cage in xXx 3. The film is teasing fans slowly but surely ever since, and the latest update includes the casting of Jet Li, Indian actress Deepika Padukone, and famed Thai martial artist Tony Jaa.

According to Twitch, Jet Li and Tony Jaa will be showcasing there martial arts skills in xXx 3. However, there's not yet any indication of the roles they would fill. Also, star Deepika Padukone will join Xander Cage as well. It has been reported that the beautiful Indian actress would be on the side of the good guys.

The production was said to be heading to the Philippines, but it wasn't until last fall that xXx 3 was finally moving forward. D. J Caruso of Eagle Eye and Disturbia was named as the director. It was also reported that Samuel L. Jackson will be reprising his role as Agent Augustus Eugene Gibbons.

Also after Conor McGregor's 13 second knockout in UFC, Vin Diesel then invited the McGregor to be slated in xXx 3. Vin Diesel himself is no stranger to casting MMA fighters, having previously worked with former UFC women's bantamweight champion Ronda Roussey in "Fast and Furious" franchise.

The script will be written by Terminator Salvation scribes, John Brancato and Michael Ferris. Meanwhile, Neal H. Moritz of Fast and Furious is set to produce xXx 3.

Back in 2002, Vin Diesel was starred as leading man Xander Cage in xXx. It was then followed by a sequel, entitled xXx: State of the Union. The sequel hit the theaters in 2005 with Ice Cube (Darius Stone) replacing Vin Diesel as the lead role. However, the film failed to recapture the box office clout of Vin Diesel's original xXx.

It has also been reported that the tentative title of xXx 3 is xXx: The Return of Xander Cage. It has been planned for many years now, and expectations are getting higher as Vin Diesel teases fans with its newest casts and production materials.
