CD Projekt Red's The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is chosen by The Escapist for their Editor's Choice Game of the Year for 2015, GameStop's Game of the Year which also offers discounts on physical copies of the game and also Niche Gamer's Game of the Year among its favorite games of 2015.

The Escapist Community Manager Ron Whitaker said that The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt which is very much anticipated prior to its release in May, lived up to almost every expectation of its fans. It is a massive open world that "actually raised the bar for games in the genre," says Whitaker.  

The game's quest system makes every quest matter, which, many of them are fully detailed quests with a mini-story inside that Geralt would undertake. For Whitaker, quests fills the massive open world with things to do such as hunting, crafting, alchemy, and other activities that keep the gamer busy. Gwent, which is a CCG within the game added by the game's well-crafter story, is what makes it a great game.

For Niche Gamer, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt was chosen as the GOTY among its four contenders - Undertale, Bloodborne, Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain, and Pillars of Eternity.

"The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt really blew me away. It was the kind of game I just couldn't go on media blackout for," said Brandon Orselli of Niche Gamer. "It's got everything, monster slaying, beautiful women, a good story, and a womanizing, brooding, badass protagonist. I can't recommend it enough," he added.

And lastly, GameStop has chosen The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt as its official Game of the Year for 2015 and offered a huge discount on the game, reports International Business Times. The retailer is giving 50 percent discount for PS4 and Xbox One copies of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt for only $29.99 instead of the regular $59.99 price. In additon, GameStop is also offering the Hearts of Stone expansion for $9.99. Gamestop, however, did not announce until when the offer will last but buyers are advised to get it soon.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt was released by CD Projekt Red on May 19 for the PS4, Xbox One, and PC platforms.
